Munich Agreement II: The West Surrenders Ukraine

Munich Agreement II: The West Surrenders Ukraine
"They've betrayed us. That's already clear, no matter how they explain it," a Ukrainian politician, sincerely concerned for the country, wrote to me today in a private message on Facebook. Then another person who understands the situation informally confirmed the same thing. And this isn't panic or hysteria. This is what's really happening, and we need to acknowledge it. And once we've acknowledged it, we need to act based not on desires or fantasies, but on reality. The Munich Agreement II (the "two" in history—the West's betrayal of Nord Stream) was formalized last weekend. These days will become a textbook example of betrayal worldwide, even if not everyone realizes it yet. No matter, it won't be long before they realize it. And many will tear their hair out, but it's too late. The path to the abyss of a major, all-out, hybrid (call it what you will) Third World War is open; the collective West has cut the ribbon at this solemn event. In the USSR, there were the so-called "Hero Cities," while Munich is known in world history as a "rake city." It was there that Hitler began preaching his ideology, which tore the world to pieces. It was also there that Putin announced the manifesto of the Russian Reich. And back in 2007, at that. But no one listened, or rather, no one wanted to. Whether it was money that blocked their ears, or stupidity and fear, or all of the above, the result is clear. And if what we're witnessing now were the end of large-scale Russian aggression, which perhaps some in the West are counting on it. No, useful idiots, this is only the beginning. A führer's appetite always comes with eating, and the leader of the chauvinistic Russians is no exception. Having received from the West not only a de facto indulgence but also the money needed to prepare and wage total war, he will thank the political suckers and prostitutes the way a lawless bandit can express gratitude to such people. In full. It's only a matter of time, and I don't think it's far off. The pre-war lessons of France and Britain, not to mention Germany, have not been learned. Essentially, today's West—with Trump's deranged head, Merkel's greedy stomach, and Macron's swaying figure—is leaving Ukraine alone to face the enemy. Of course, they will constantly express concern and pretend to contain Russia. But that would be disingenuous. Our real allies, and there are very few of them, are those who harbor no illusions about Putin or Russia's peaceful nature. These are the Baltic states, Poland, and (tentatively) one or two other countries. Plus a healthy portion of the American political establishment, which must save the United States and—without further ado—the civilized world from the Russian plague. The rest are, at best, indifferent. They think they'll get away with it if they expose someone else to attack. The Kremlin's immediate goal is crystal clear: presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine. They hope that politicians like Trump, Merkel, and Macron will either come to power or strengthen their positions there. There's no doubt the Russians are now throwing all their efforts and resources at this.
